Jr Sprinters,
Please post on here or call me (620) 260-7651 if you plan on racing at Airport Raceway this season. I would like to get somewhat of a car count that can be expected. There's talk of running the Jrs and the Quarter Midgets together. Please post or call me with your thoughts and concerns about that as well.
Thanks,
Andrew

Time to start thinking racing. Tanner Johnson will be running the #86 Jr Sprint again this season. Really like the gold plate rule for all jr sprints. No purple, blue or other for the rookies. Everyone has same plate to make it easy to comply and eliminate confusion. Another rule that needs to be uniform is that all of the little cars run wings. If they are there for safety then all need to run them Jr or quarter-midget. Also would like to see the two classes work together to put on a show each week. If we have a dozen of each then great split them up and run seperately but I do not see that happening. Think all of the kids would benefit from increased car count, more traffic, faster competition, diferent lines etc. And we are doing this for the kids after all. Surely with as many smart people we have at the airport raceway we can find a way to make two types run comparable enough to race together. Mike Walker and I discussed having a kids only practice on Sunday the day following the scheduled practice day April 16th. Really hope 30 people reply to this saying that they are dusting their Jr's off and are coming to race. Feel free to call me.

Just wondered about the plate rule? What color? For what class, ect. Trying to get motors tuned. Doesn't matter to us either way, just want to race. Thanks , Richie Dewell (Brayton's dad 112) ph.# 620-255-5431

Richie if Braytons racing in the rookie class he'll need to run the .425" purple restrictor and if he's racing in the pro class he can run the .575" gold plate. Here is the link to the rules if anyone needs it. airportraceway.com/rules.cfm?r=jr

We have a junior sprint that will be run some this season. We have the black 49 car and will be running in the gold plate class. Would like to see two seperate classes but understand that the more cars the better the racing too. The kids sure have fun.

If we are going to have the kids practice on that Sunday, I think that would be nice to get them out there for more track time. Please let me now if this is confirmed in order not to have to make plans for that. looking foreward to getting the kids out there!!!!

I just received a phone call from Joe Ford in Hugoton and his son will be racing a Jr. Sprint with us this year as well. He's 10 and will be starting out in the Rookie class. They're new to racing and will be at the car show to meet everyone.
