What's everyones thoughts on the rules for next year in the Jr. Sprint class? Our plan as of last year was to begin with restrictor plates and then move toward karting rules either IKF or WKA for the 2011 season. I think we also need to think about a specific tire size rule and perhaps some other issues. Lets discuss this and get together and have a meeting. Thanks, Andrew 620-260-7651

We jsut got in at the very end of the season but us guys from Ulysses would definately like to be a part of the rules discussion. We are running quarter midgets and it looks like we dont run with the jujior sprints but I would like to have some clear class rules for our cars as well.

Barbo, As far as I know there are no rules at this point in time for the quarter midget class. The people to talk to about this would either be Dave Frazer or Mike Walker. Here's a link to the Quarter Midgets of America website that has pretty much everything you would need to get some rules in place. www.quartermidgets.org/documents/documents.aspYou are more than welcome to attend our meeting if we get one in place and set some rules as well. If you have any questions or need any help with anything feel free to call. Andrew Maddox 620-260-7651

I agree that this is the time to look at any changes we would like to see. I think keeping the gold plate and adding a tire rule would be benificial to the class. We need to be careful to not change so much we eliminate the drop ins we were getting week to week. I think we need to put some energy into getting the car count for the Jr's up. With the track seemingly pushing for the quarter midgets to take off for whatever reason we are going to have to compete for drivers with that class or figure out some rules where we can run together that makes sense for all concerned.

Hoping to get Liza back to Airport in 2011. We ran at Hutchinson Raceway Park most of 2010. They have a set of rules on their site that is pretty good. www.h-r-p.tripod.com You could throw a blanket over most of the pack nightly. Sealed Spec motor would be flatheads, animals, clones, Hondas??? Tire rule would be great with a durometer test before the feature. A spec fuel would be fine, but E85? no thanks. A simple methanol that would pass a water test is trouble free. We have been having to weigh 245-275 depending on plate and age. Would be great to get Airport/Wakeeney/Hutch/Inman/etc on the same wave.

The Qtr Midgets will run max of a spec modified clone 200cc. (availible locally aprox. 15 hp) spec fuel is dependant on sponsorship, and everyone fills off of the same can. I'm trying to get the class sponored ($). No shock or tire rules. No plates Weight will be determinded at the practice day.All things can be dicussed at the next rules meeting Thanks, Mike Koop/Walker Racing

vpguy,
The jr sprint class has not yet had an opportunity to get together and discuss their rules for next season. If there's anything in particular that you'd like to see happen feel free to post it on here. I'll try to get a hold of everyone and get a meeting set up once life slows down a little bit! You can give me a call if you'd like at 620-260-7651.
Thanks, Andrew

A little short notice for me, but will try to make it. There are a bunch of cars that run the same rules that race East of us that are looking at running at Airport in 2011. They run under the rules that are IKF type rules and are used in KS,MO,TX,OK and makes it a little easier to travel and run at other tracks. As I posted before they can be read at www.h-r-p.tripod.com which may help with a set of rules that pull a proven good and competitive field.
